Storm Damage Restoration

Wind, hail, tree-impact, and storm-driven roof leaks. We secure the structure fast, mitigate interior water damage, and coordinate the repair scope with your carrier from day one.

Phase 1 — Stop the loss

After a storm, every hour the structure is open increases secondary damage. We dispatch for same-day emergency tarping (roof breaches), board-up (broken windows and openings), and water extraction for any interior intrusion. Documentation starts on the first visit so the insurance claim has photo evidence of the original condition.

  • Emergency tarp installation per Xactimate scope
  • Board-up of windows, doors, and structural openings
  • Water extraction and structural drying
  • Content protection and pack-out as needed

Phase 2 — Repair and rebuild

Once the structure is dry and the claim scope is approved, we move into permanent repair. Roofing, siding, gutters, windows, drywall, paint, flooring — all coordinated under one schedule with one project manager.

  • Roof, siding, and exterior envelope repair
  • Interior drywall, paint, and flooring restoration
  • Carrier coordination through supplements and final invoice
  • Receipts-saved tracking of any emergency repairs (reimbursable)

Storm Damage FAQs

What counts as storm damage?

Wind damage (shingles lifted off, fascia/soffit damage, fallen trees on the structure), hail damage (roof and siding pitting, broken windows), water intrusion from wind-driven rain, and lightning-related fire or surge damage. We handle the structural side; if there is a separate electrical or HVAC issue, we coordinate with the right specialists.

Does my homeowners insurance cover storm damage?

Standard homeowners policies cover wind, hail, and lightning damage in most states including Illinois. Flood damage from rising surface water is excluded from standard policies and requires NFIP flood insurance. We document what is and is not covered so your adjuster has clear evidence either way.

How fast can you board up or tarp?

Same-day emergency tarping and board-up across the Chicago suburbs. Once the structure is secured against further water intrusion, we move to mitigation and the insurance claim documentation in parallel.

Do I have to use my insurance company's "preferred vendor"?

No. You choose the restoration company. Preferred vendor programs are a convenience offered by carriers — they are not a requirement of your policy. You can use any qualified contractor, and the carrier still has to pay the covered loss.
